Another Innovation from 20/10 PERFECT VISION
The new innovative FEMTEC® Radial Force Detector In order to better assist with the accurate positioning of the patient, and in order to detect and prevent unwanted shear effects during the procedure, a unique external pressure sensor display has been developed. The visual radial (shear) force indicator helps to optimize the position of the patient’s head . Colored LED lights indicated the departure from the optimal position, and guide the physician to a satisfactory position indicated by a green light. A built-in safety feature prevents the laser system from being activated in an grossly off-center position indicated by a red light. Moreover, the linear pressure applied to the eye is displayed in real time as well as the shear forces. A yellow, orange or red light indicates an off-center position. In order to position the patient’s head into a central position the patient is moved via patient bed alignment into the direction of the arrow until a green light indicates that no shear forces may interfere with the procedure. If shear forces exceed a certain limit the system will automatically not allow a procedure to be started. The green light indicating the system as being ready is shut off in this case and is going back to green after patient position realignment. |
