The introduction of a new optics front-end brings several advantages.
With the new optics, the bed cuts associated with flap or LKP procedures result in a very homogeneous ablation from periphery to center. This homogeneity allows a cutting process at only 50% or even lower laser energy levels in comparison with the previous model.
Both these factors lead to a smoother bed surface, making subsequent procedures such as excimer treatments or lamellar transplants easier and more effective. In addition, the possible cutting depth has been further increased.
