Intracorneal Ring Segments (ICRS) The computer-aided FEMTEC Laser system allows for the first time the generation of stable, efficient and reproducible tunnel incisions for a broad variety of types and sizes of ring segments. The results achieved with keratoconus and ectasia are particularly convincing. The perfect fit of the tunnel incision prevents potential postoperative infiltrates being deposited in the tunnel channels. The FEMTEC incision follows the natural curvature of the cornea and enables optimal positioning in the stroma. The operator can at any time follow the procedure through the surgical microscope and intervene if necessary. |
