Astigmatic Keratotomy (AK Cuts)
The applicative approach to astigmatic keratotomy using the FEMTEC
Laser offers an excellent platform of the highest precision. The FEMTEC
Laser enables users to freely select the parameters of their choice.
This means that the length, site, depth, and positioning of the
incisions can be individually configured. Future software will
incorporate the option of directly selecting common AK nomograms, or
give separate nomograms. This will make it easier for the operator to
further improve the determination of the desired correction. The laser
procedure only lasts for a few seconds, and can be visually controlled
at all times by the operator. Compared to conventional methods,
AK incisions are accurate and reproducible.
